Plants

We have been getting some rain and not real hot temperatures.  Our plants are doing great. We’ve been eating some red cherry tomatoes as well as yellow pear ones.  Saw today where I have roma tomatoes coming as well as others.  Soon I shouldn’t havevto buy any for eating.

I have a couple Cajun Belle peppers on the plant and the one Thai pepper plant is full of tiny peppers!!!! The one Japenese eggplant is blooming.  And our herbs are doing great.  Hoping the garlic soon starts drying and we can dig it up.

The perennials are doing well. The Lyreleaf Sage is a good ground cover for shaded areas.  This year it has really taken off.  The squirrels like it too. They are often seen munching on the seed spikes.

Another one that’s doing well is our Bee Balm.  Not blooming yet but is quite big.

Bee balm. ( wild bergamot)

The Mexican Sunflower is starting grow.  Butterflies like this plant, especially Monarchs. This gets quite tall.  6 to 7 feet.

Our Great Coneflower plants are getting ready to bloom.  The Finches enjoy the seeds once the flowers start to dry. The bush at the fence is a Weeping Yupon.

This plant made me glad I have the picture this plant app.

Chinese St. John Wort

Everything is green right now. When we drive out of town the corn fields look good.  Hoping the conditions remain good and the crop us good this year.  It has a good start. Haven’t been out where they plant cotton.  Last year was a bad year for that.

Our other perennial shrubs are pushing stems, getting leaves.  Really happy the ones close to where the brick work was getting done are coming back.  Oh and are new sod is still looking good.

On the house front, if we getca few days of no rain we shouid be able to get the trim painted! Then I think we are done for hopefully a long time!!!

And one more thing to cross off the to do list.  We dropped off our barstools yesterday to have the seats recovered- new foam and real leather!  We bought them when we redid our kitchen 10 years ago.  They had a leather looking seat then.  Over the years, the last 2, the vinyl has been breaking down.  Will probably pick them up next week.
