NO BERYL FOR US!
No, I am not complaining but we do need the rain so we were hoping for some of the much needed moisture. The areas it is hitting did not need the heavy rain. The forecast kept changing for us from high winds with 2 to 4 inches of rain. We had a nice breeze this morning and no rain. East Texas not so lucky. Lots of wind and rain.
We did do some preparation for winds. Galen put the cages up on the Mexican Sunflowers. Several are over 6 feet tall and they do bend and brake easily. At least now they are up in case we do get some strong winds! The butterflies and hummingbirds like the flowers.
Lady had surgery last Friday. Galen had her at the vets the week before to look at the sebaceous cyst on her back. While there it burst. Vet said it needed to come off as it would only fill up again. Surgery was scheduled for the 5th and yes it did quickly fill up! She also had 3 places on here belly removed as the vet was concerned about those. They have been sent to the lab for testing. In 2020 right after we got her she had a tumor removed from her belly. Since she was a sleep she had her teeth cleaned too. She’s not a happy camper having to wear a donut so she doesn’t get after the stitches but at least it’s not a lampshade (cone).
I have managed to get more sewing done. Have the table runner (top) made. I had shown one of the blocks in another post. I t is far from perfect. Pieces had been cut maybe 6 years ago more. Too start with they may not have been perfect cuts! But it will get used and probably under some Christmas decorations! Won’t be able to see the cut off points!!! There are placemats to make yet but they are waiting in the wings for another day. I want to get the 3 tops for Linus ready with backing to hand over to Osie to quilt when I see her in another week.
We went over to my storage unit on Sunday. Brought home more bins full of fabric and kits. Sorted through those-another few boxes going to Linus and the kits I still want to make are now waiting in line! Actually one is made now but not pressed. So pictures later. It’s one of the 3 I am getting ready for Linus!
