MAKING PROGRESS
I did start a new quilt. Found the pattern in a 2017 Fons and Porter quilt magazine. It’s a baby quilt and uses 39 – 2 1/2 wide strips. I had a jelly roll here, think it’s called rainy day. Lots of bright colors. This is the first 6 blocks. The blocks are rectangle so the setting is 6 across and 5 rows down.
Monday the front yard got some TLC. The beds by our front door are now river rock. We needed to get the mulch off the first row of bricks. They took out a few ground cover plants we had there. Took the mulch out dug a shallow trench along the garage wall and then added rock. Galen planted the ground cover elsewhere.
They also worked the soil and then put down sod. Areas that were damaged during work in February. They put in a full day. Now it’s up to us to keep it watered until it takes hold.
We still need to get some painting done, mostly trim and freshen up the hardy board on the back- 2nd floor. Hopefully that is the last of work on the house for awhile. Probably the next job will be replacing the fence; but not this year!
The weather has been pretty nice. We’ve been able to sit out and enjoy our deck. The plants are doing well. Getting buds on several of the tomato plants.
Time to get busy! Have a good day
