Week Before Christmas

Busy as ever, like everyone else, but we’re getting there. I do have some baking yet and 2 dinners to prepare for, but we are keeping them fairly simple. One Friday evening and the other Christmas day. With 2 days in between there’s a little down time.

Right now we are sitting on the deck with coffee in hand watching the few butterflies working on our flowers. The butterfly bed is pretty well done for until Spring. The cages are put away that we used to support the Mexican Sunflowers. A few still have blooms but most have been pulled out. A few Mexican Milkweed are still blooming as are the Fire Bushes. Our first couple years in Taiwan it was hard for me to get used to warmer weather and no snow. After all we moved there from MN! But it helped having flowers blooming in our small yard including poinsettias!

Getting snow is unpredictable anyway. I think it was 2 years after my Mother died we went to PA to spend Christmas with my Dad and also catch up with Galen’s family. No snow, but in Victoria, Texas, about 120 miles SE of us, they had about a foot of snow!! Guess we should have gone there to have snow at Christmas!

Hope everyone has a blest Holiday. Remember the reason, enjoy family and friends.
