Remodel Week 7, Tuesday part 2

A lot of progress was made today as you will see in the pictures. Old deck is gone, footers poured for the new posts and foundation. The electrician figured out what we needed for lights on the deck. He is getting used to our house now so probably not much surprises him any more!

 We had a banded sphinx moth grace us with his presence. Funny thing is that several years ago Galen got a picture of a vine sphinx moth in the same location on our porch!

 End of day-concrete is in and setting up!

The trailer is getting pretty full!
 Not to leave anyone out-the guys got busy on laying the wood floor upstairs. This was about 10 this morning


When we went back over the house the common area was finished and they had started on one of the bedrooms

                                      
                                                               

 Tilly knows she is not allowed up stairs so she waits at the foot of the steps.

    I thought about week 2 or 3 that you were almost done ... It will be so worth the wait. That is a beautiful moth, BTW.

  April 1 2025 And a month later I’m doing a blog post! March was a strange month.  The Weather was crazy- cold days, warm days. Days where you didn’t want to be out much. Smoke from the wildfires west of us,  not to mention the dust being driven to us by strong winds. And very little rain.  Our total so far for the first 3 months.  3.77 inches.  We got .6 while towns along the coast got 14 to 20 this past week. Galen wasn’t able to get out much but he did get a few pictures. He went down to our small lake one afternoon looking for Dragonflies.   While there an Eagle flew in fairly close.  He thought he had seen one a few weeks earlier but it was flying away so he wasn’t able to get any pictures.  This time he did. Eagle at Forest Creek Several times we had Cedar Waxwings in the yard feeding on our Yupon Holly bushes.   They really go after the berries.   Design Wall Monday I hope everyone enjoying the Memorial Day holiday remembers why we celebrate this day.. Last week ended up being busier than planned. But I was able to work more on my blocks. This may end up being a table square or a table runner. Played a little bit the blocks. Not sewn together just playing with layout. I have more HSTs  made. And some others ready to be made into blocks. Didn’t get to meet up with Osie last week.  Hopefully we can get together later this week. And needo get busy on more doggie bandanas.   Mother’s Day 2025 First off Happy Mother’s Day.  Being a dog Mom Lady wished me a happy day. Not sure what made me think of this. Many years ago- mid to late 50’s into early 60’s we almost always spent Mother’s Day by going shad fishing! We would get up early in the morning,  Mom would pack a lunch, load up Dad’s aluminum boat on to the car top carriers and we would drive to Port Deposit, MD.  Spend the day on the water fishing on the Susquehana River.  Sometimes we caught shad, sometimes not. Mom was always very careful when she fileted them- very boney.  I had not thought about that in a very long time. We were lucky and had rain earlier this week. Up to 6.66 inches for the year.   Get to keep the irrigation system off for another week.
