More progress made today, but not as much as planned! The wood for the stair treads did not show up yesterday as planned or at least not where it was supposed to be! However the guys got the deck pretty well finished. More wood to go back and more to be delivered! But it should be a quick finish next Monday or Tuesday when they can be here again. They have another job on Monday.
Basically what they need are the boards for the facing. Don't want any critters getting under the deck. There isn't much space under it but still don't want to tempt any 4 legged critters or those that slither!
Getting rid of that center post has made all the difference in the world. It will be a much more user friendly space.
We took off for a little while this afternoon and got back in time to find out- the stair treads have been located! Peter brought them to the house. He is doing this installation, they needed Lynn on another job site. Peter is the one who did the tile for us in the bathrooms. Tomorrow he will start on the stairs!
The painter also stopped by on his way home to talk to us about the stain for the deck and show us the charts. Think we have that figured out. He will show us samples on Tuesday of how it will look on the cedar and pine boards.
The deck is shaping up nicely. Getting that center post out helps both with the view and traffic patterns. Bet you're wishing you hadn't done it sooner!
