Stash report- week 1, 2013

I am going to see how well I can adhere to using as much from my way to big fabric "collection" this year.  Like Judy I have resisted the online and the local quilt stores sales!  That in itself is a great beginning for me.  Did not get to use much as I was making blocks this week for several swaps I am in.  Did however get the binding on a quilt top I have had sitting here waiting to be finished.  Hence only a small usage report, but it is on the positive side!  Will post a picture later on.

Added Year to Date: 0 yards
Net Used for 2013: 12.5 inches

I may have to rethink how I will figure fabric used before next weeks report.

  Design Wall Monday I hope everyone enjoying the Memorial Day holiday remembers why we celebrate this day.. Last week ended up being busier than planned. But I was able to work more on my blocks. This may end up being a table square or a table runner. Played a little bit the blocks. Not sewn together just playing with layout. I have more HSTs  made. And some others ready to be made into blocks. Didn’t get to meet up with Osie last week.  Hopefully we can get together later this week. And needo get busy on more doggie bandanas. LAST MONDAY IN APRIL 2025 Another month just about over. The past few weeks have gone by quickly. The weather has been nice enough for Galen to get out to take pictures. They even got a 3 day trip in to SE Texas. We had a lot of rainy days in our forecast. Most of the storms however went around us. The ones west of us should have helped our lakes some. But here at our home we have only had 4 1/2 inches since the first of the year. That’s not good!!! Mexican Sunflower plants are sprouting from last year’s seeds as is the Butterfly Weed. The Bee Balm is also growing. We managed to keep some Lemon Grass through the winter as well. Our older Amaryllis bulbs are also doing well. This pot is from 2024 or 2023. Not sure which year. And we are getting a few tomatoes. Yes I bought a tomato plants that had buds on it! Too our surprise we also have 2 or 3 volunteer yellow pear tomatoes growing! We have rabbits frequently in our yard not to mention those pesky squirrels. We have to keep moving bir...

  Mother’s Day 2025 First off Happy Mother’s Day.  Being a dog Mom Lady wished me a happy day. Not sure what made me think of this. Many years ago- mid to late 50’s into early 60’s we almost always spent Mother’s Day by going shad fishing! We would get up early in the morning,  Mom would pack a lunch, load up Dad’s aluminum boat on to the car top carriers and we would drive to Port Deposit, MD.  Spend the day on the water fishing on the Susquehana River.  Sometimes we caught shad, sometimes not. Mom was always very careful when she fileted them- very boney.  I had not thought about that in a very long time. We were lucky and had rain earlier this week. Up to 6.66 inches for the year.   Get to keep the irrigation system off for another week.
