Design Wall Monday-July 8, 2013

Very little sewing has been getting done the past few weeks.  Fortunately we do have deadlines on the Top of the Month.  Have slowly been working on it and it is not that hard. Finding the time has been the hard part. But it will be done by the 3rd Thursday of July!
Unlike Judy we don't live in the middle of no where but we do have the country about a mile from us.  I didn't know baby donkeys could be so cute!  This picture was taken about 3 weeks ago.  This is Mopsie
and Mom. Hope to have more to report next week.

A little to show this week. First off is a better picture of the Jelly Roll quilt. Still have not decided if I will border it or not. At this point I am thinking not. But then you never know! It doesn't have a name. It was designed by Sue who works at Honey Bee in Austin for one of their strip clubs. It's a combination of a 4 patch, 2", 4" up to 20" strips. While in the motel I also worked on quilt blocks using the MSQC Chevron u-tube video.  Here's 32 of them. Had to do a little frogging on several . there will be 40 total. Think I will make 2 small quilts-4 x 5 with a narrow border of white, then a 4 inch wide print border. One layout I am thinking of using from her video has some half blocks, so I'm not rushing to finish the last few until I get it all laid out. I used a layer cake I had on hand. It's a floral. Forget the name but probably still have the particulars some where! Have several more projects started - the motel was go...

  Design Wall Monday I hope everyone enjoying the Memorial Day holiday remembers why we celebrate this day.. Last week ended up being busier than planned. But I was able to work more on my blocks. This may end up being a table square or a table runner. Played a little bit the blocks. Not sewn together just playing with layout. I have more HSTs  made. And some others ready to be made into blocks. Didn’t get to meet up with Osie last week.  Hopefully we can get together later this week. And needo get busy on more doggie bandanas. LAST MONDAY IN APRIL 2025 Another month just about over. The past few weeks have gone by quickly. The weather has been nice enough for Galen to get out to take pictures. They even got a 3 day trip in to SE Texas. We had a lot of rainy days in our forecast. Most of the storms however went around us. The ones west of us should have helped our lakes some. But here at our home we have only had 4 1/2 inches since the first of the year. That’s not good!!! Mexican Sunflower plants are sprouting from last year’s seeds as is the Butterfly Weed. The Bee Balm is also growing. We managed to keep some Lemon Grass through the winter as well. Our older Amaryllis bulbs are also doing well. This pot is from 2024 or 2023. Not sure which year. And we are getting a few tomatoes. Yes I bought a tomato plants that had buds on it! Too our surprise we also have 2 or 3 volunteer yellow pear tomatoes growing!
