Week 2 Friday of the remodel

It has been one of those weeks where things are happening but hard to tell or show in pictures. On Tuesday and Wednesday the sheet rock people were back getting seams taped and smoothed over. Victor did as much as he could on Wednesday, left early as things needed to dry and dry really well.

He was going to be here this morning but called, car trouble, Can't blame him for that. He will be here tomorrow Saturday.  The contractor Greg will also be here I am sure. He has been on vacation this past week. I laughed when he called on Wednesday. I thought you were on vacation some where in the islands  ---   yes, but the lumber people just called and said they would be delivering everything on Thursday afternoon. Please have them put it in the garage.

Turns out lumber and the fire door for the attic entrance is in the garage. The other 2 doors are sitting in our living room on the backs of two old quilts. The garage does smell like lumber though, that's good!

Victor and family came late Friday afternoon. He was able to get the bathrooms ready for the cabinets and the other bedroom where they tore out the wall taken care of. They left about 7:30. He'll be back sometime this coming week to finish up a few places that weren't crucial to the work on Monday.

We have one other project starting in a few weeks -the deck. We need to take out 2 bushes. It's a shame, we planted them when we moved here 17 years ago but they are in the way. Galen thought he had best starting cutting them down.

It was a week where it seemed like not much was getting accomplished as it was all prep and not much to really show. This coming week it gets busy again. The new bathroom cabinets should get here tomorrow. The trim carpenter will also be here. Replacing 2 doors and not sure if he will begin to tackle the steps-removing the railings and putting up temporary ones. I watch and take pictures and try to stay out of their way!
