August Get it Done List-2013

My July Get it Done, well let's just say not much got done!

This month's LQS top of the month-Done!

Finish the work area

Dig out a UFO and work on it this time!

I should get a quilt back from the quilter-if so will get it
bound.

I did make a lot of progress in the sewing room and the whole upstairs. Instead of digging out a UFO and working on it- I found  few more.

My quilt did come back from the quilter but it is not bound.

So my list for August:

Bind the quilt from July's list.
Bind the 2 donation quilts that I'll pick up probably next week.  they aren't as big.
Get the next Top of the Month quilt top made. they always need to be finished by the 3rd Thursday.
Would like to get caught up on the LQS block of the Month from Honey Bee
And yes, I am going to get back to working on at least one UFO!

Seems like a lot for me for the month, but I am ready to get back to sewing. And since I may actually be able to find things, my sewing time should be more productive! Also it looks like Galen will be away for a week!
What's on your list?

Design Wall-July 29, 2013

I am afraid the wall hasn't changed this week!  I have 2 more blocks cut for the 2 projects but no sewing. Lots of other things going on this past week, getting ready for company, working outside when it isn't too hot!  Like to pull weeds after a rain and yes, we have managed to get some much needed rain.  Our plants and grass have been saying thank you!And the birds, lots of activity this past week. Filling all the feeders just about every day!    Our quail must have been traveling through the week before, no sign of them this past week.

I was hoping it wasn't them that our Road Runner was feasting on last Monday, but it wasn't. He was having a white wing dove for dinner!
Hopefully next week I will have something to show!

Stash Report-week 30, 2013

Nothing used this week, but did need to get 1/3 of a yard for the next block in the  Progressive BOM. Looks like this will be my story for the next 10 days-family coming for a visit!

Used to date- 96.455; added this week - .333;  added to date - 27.816;  Net Used- 68.639!

I did look to see where my spending was on fabric as opposed to last year-really doing good so far! To me that is even more important than the amount being used.  Those numbers will start increasing again in a few weeks!

what did others do this past week?

Design Wall-July 22, 2013

A little sewing this past week so I do have something to show.  Actually blocks for 2 different projects!
This one is a Block of the Month at Honey Bee Quilt store in Austin.  I was not going to do any more of these for a long while.(have a stock pile!)  But it is all batiks and that did it!

This one is what Jessica is calling a Progressive Block of the Month.  She has the Cotton Cupboard in Lakeway.  Everyone is making the same pattern but picking their own fabrics.  And you work on it at your own pace.  We picked the fabric for the first 2 blocks, then you pick the fabric for the 3rd and so on until the blocks are finished.  You pay up front for this one, but if you keep at it and then get the top made within 60 days (once blocks are done and you pick your sashing and border fabrics) you get a gift certificate.  So you basically end up only paying for the pattern!  When I was there last week I got to see several others progressive quilt blocks-really fun to see what others had picked for their focus fabrics.

If I can get a little more sewing time this week-there should be a few more blocks to show next Monday!

Stash Report-Week 29, 2013

Numbers aren't as good this week.  It was time to get the fabric for the 3rd Top of the Month and also for block #3 of the Progressive Block of the Month.  I added fabric and can't count what I have used since nothing is finished.  Always next week, I guess.

Used to date- 96.455; added this week - 4.833;  added to date - 27.483;  Net Used- 68.972!

How did others fare this week?

Design Wall Monday-July 15, 2013

Not much sewing got done this past week, but I did manage to finish the Top of the Month.  Good thing, I need to take it to the quilt shop on Thursday to get credit and pick out the fabric for next month!
We have been having some rain this morning!  Started very early and has been raining on and off for awhile.
While it isn't going to truly help the drought situation it is good to get some rain.  It helps wash the dust from the limestone quarry off the trees.  When I take Dad to the Y we pass a big quarry and when we don't have rain, the leaves are more gray than green! We have had a little over 1/2" so far. Hope the forecast holds true for the next few days-chance of storms!

My computer and I are still having a love/hate relationship, but we are somewhat getting along.

Design Wall Monday-July 8, 2013

Very little sewing has been getting done the past few weeks.  Fortunately we do have deadlines on the Top of the Month.  Have slowly been working on it and it is not that hard. Finding the time has been the hard part. But it will be done by the 3rd Thursday of July!
Unlike Judy we don't live in the middle of no where but we do have the country about a mile from us.  I didn't know baby donkeys could be so cute!  This picture was taken about 3 weeks ago.  This is Mopsie
and Mom. Hope to have more to report next week.
